It’s finally happened!! I’ve finally photographed a session in the Adirondacks. I’ve been wanting to check off this goal for some time now, and I’m so happy that it was with such a sweet couple of mine for 2024. Maddy and Caden live in Lowville, Ny where we spent some time checking out a couple different locations in preparation for their wedding next month. We explored the DEC and then headed out to Tug Hill Estate, which greeted us with the most incredible views. I’m so glad we spent our time exploring these areas that Maddy thought she would love for their wedding portraits, because now I have a great idea for which areas have the best light, and we can get right to creating gorgeous photos there in August! Having your engagement session at your wedding venue, or another area that you want to utilize for your wedding photos, is such a great way to prepare and also have a matching setting for both galleries.
Leading up to their session, the weather looked so iffy. It was a high chance of rain, and we were honestly planning for that “what-if” scenario of them being rained on. Luckily, the time came to start their session, and we had maybe 1 minute total of rain the entire time. I have no clue how we got so lucky, but the cloud cover made the photos at Tug Hill Estate even better! These are some of the best views I’ve captured during a session, and I’m so excited to be sharing them with you all! (and just know, I’m always down for a trip to ADK)
I had such a great time getting to know Maddy and Caden throughout their session. They’ve known each other such a long time and have such a beautiful relationship. I cannot wait for their wedding day next month, where their ceremony is going to be held at Caden’s family’s venue! It looks like they have such a beautiful day lined up, and I’m so excited to celebrate with them soon!
