I’m SO excited to be sharing my VERY FIRST blog post!! And who better to be the featured couple, than these two?!! If you’ve followed my photography journey from the beginning, you’d recognize them from some family sessions I’ve shared. Steve & Jessica have been supporting my business since THE BEGINNING. Literally. The first time I ever held a mini session event they were there with their girls, and Jessica’s mom, brother, etc. (It can be fun to look back and see how far I’ve come since then… yikes!🙄) Jessica and I are actually family so that makes it even more fun to have done this engagement session with them! It was less nerve wracking than some, because we didn’t have to warm up to each other, and they already knew how to be great models! So I just got to have the fun of showing them all of the new things I’ve been learning since their last session!
When Jessica sent me the message that Steve had proposed and asked me to do the photos, I think I actually squealed a bit. And then I found out he asked her while they were on a vacation in Disney, in front of Cinderella’s Castle!! (For those who don’t know, I’m part of that group of humans a tad bit obsessed with Disney World) How lucky is she to have such a great proposal story?! (Props to Steve!)
We decided to do the engagement session in Lewiston, Ny because of their ties to the area. They’ve spent a lot of time there together and I think that it is so important that my couples have their engagement photos taken in a spot that means something to them. We spent our time between Center St in the Village of Lewiston & Joeseph Davis State Park. We were so lucky to have had a mild day right in the beginning of March! With the weather in Buffalo, you never can tell what you’re in for when you plan a few months in advance…but the sun was out and it felt much warmer that it was! (Although we were all glad we had hand warmers…especially for Jessica’s toes in her sandals!🥶)
I’m so excited to get to celebrate their wedding day with them next year! I’ll be waiting eagerly, but for now, enjoy these images from their session!!
